Stressful but refreshful

Another week of Big 12 basketball down in the books. After a stressful bye week and eventful weekend I can say I am glad the week is over and the next one has begun. Although it already seems to be much like the last one as far as stressful. Its that time of the years where the tests begin, papers and due and the wear and tear of playing Big 12 basketball starts to take a toll on you. But its part of being a Division 1 basketball player and I wouldn't want anything less.
So lets get to the eventful weekend. We hosted #12 K-State and brought back many of past cyclone greats for a reunion weekend and tribute to the 1999 Elite 8 team. With a crowd of over 11,000 and an all-around solid K-State team that beat us by 7 about 2 weeks ago the stage was set. With a 22-19 halftime lead and a gutsy call by our head coach, we started on the court for the halftime tribute to the 1999 team. WOW is about all you can say about it, aside from motivational. The saying of the week was "Not tonight" not on a night where players from the past were here, players that brought this program to where it is today, and players that would expect nothing less than our best. So in a back and forth game, we finally pulled away in the last minute in a half to pull off the 60-50 upset. With all the past players in town and a huge win for us current cyclones the only right thing to do was celebrate. We enjoyed an exciting and fun night on Welch, with the whole Cyclone Family.
Now its time to prepare for an very good team in Texas A&M who is coming to town on Wednesday. They are currently ranked 6th in country and bring a unique style of basketball to Ames. In a game that will feature on one end a very very athletic quick and pressing team vs. us, it will all come down to fundamentals. After that we will travel to Boulder, Colorado to play the Buffalos on Saturday.
Aside from all of that, how about the Super Bowl on Sunday. An exciting game, but I wasn't too impressed with the commercials this year. Maybe with the economic condition of our country spending millions on commercials wasn't worth it this year. But I did have a couple favorite in the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head commercial as well as the Budweiser ones.
Until next time have a great week and GO CYCLONES!

Celebration after the K-State Win!
Just some comedy to share from Cyclone Country. HAHA
