After a great Christmas break, its time to get back to work, as in basketball practice. We had practice the day after Christmas in preparation for the tournament we host on December 29th and 30th. After that we have a tough game with SEC powerhouse Vanderbilt who we lost to last year on their home court. Then its on to Conference games, and for those who don't know, The Big 12 conference is the toughest conference in the country, half of the teams are ranked in the Top 25. I can't believe two-thirds of the season is over, it sure does fly by. Its already been a interesting and exciting season already. Starting off with our trip to Hawaii during Thanksgiving break. Since the trip I have now changed my career choice to... Professional Surfer. I am currently in the market for a surf board so I can begin my new dream :). After that we came back home, had a tough loss at Iowa, but since the loss I think we have grown very much as a team. We are currently on a 3 game winning streak and looking to continue that streak into conference play. During that streak I hit a personal milestone of reaching the 1,000 point club, which is a very prestigious list that I am honored to be part of.
I am definitely ready for the New Year and to make sure that the best days of 2008 are the worst days of 2009!! Although I am sure we will have early practice on January 1st I still want to enjoy the New Years Eve festivities. I really can't believe I am almost done with my college career, one semester left, it definitely seems like just yesterday that I was a freshman. I am really hoping to live my last semester up with basketball, school and just life in general. I don't want to have any regrets once I graduate... There are things I still need to do like make sure people know how I really feel, even if its in a good way or a bad way. That's what this new year will bring. So until then have a great last days of 2008!!

I'll give this a try
First off I would like to welcome myself to the extracurricular activity of Blogging. I am excited to be here but I will be honest there are NO guarantees this will be a constant thing, but I will at least give it a try. I am home once again for Christmas and per usual its only a 4 day break. I was very lucky this year as my mom drove me home after our game on Sunday so I didn't have to drive myself. I also was able to go cheer on my old high school on Monday night although I think I spent most of the game walking around talking to people instead of watching the game. I got to see alot of people that mean so much to me that I do not get to see that often. At the top of that list is my high school coach who still coaches at Kickapoo and is my inspiration every time I step onto the basketball court. You see when I was a Junior she had a beautiful baby boy who spent his first few months of his live in the St. Louis Hospital due to heart problems. But now he is doing great and is an absolute genius that he makes me look stupid. The problems in her life didnt end with Drew though. About 2 years ago she gave birth to another baby boy Levi, who is perfectly healthy as well as the cutest thing ever but then only a few months later she was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, since then it has moved to her Ovaries and various other locations. But she is a fighter and at her last doctor visit the tumors had shrunk by 40%!! I have never met someone who I look up to or admire more than her. She lives her life by the words of Jimmy V, "Don't give up, Don't ever give up!"
Aside from that I have gotten to see some old friends, relive some old memories, throw back a few to many drinks, and spend some quality time with my family for the holidays. To bad I am heading back north on Christmas night to continue on with the dream I call Life...
